These days, you seem to hear a lot about organic foods, but there are actually a wide variety of organic products other than just food. There are a lot of people who believe that organic food and organic products are much healthier and better for you than non-organic food and products, and there has been much debate over whether or not this is actually true. Among the many organic products that are available out there, organic toothpaste is one of them.
The Difference between Organic Toothpaste and Regular Toothpaste?
So what is the difference between organic toothpaste and regular toothpaste?
Some people think that using organic, all-natural toothpaste will not clean your teeth as well as regular toothpaste will. However, a lot of organic toothpastes provide you with literally all of the same cleaning benefits as regular toothpaste, without any additives and/or impurities.
The physical act of brushing your teeth provides most of the “cleaning.” Your toothbrush itself is what eliminates leftover food particles from your teeth, and it would still do so even if you only brushed your teeth with water alone. The toothpaste is required for the elimination of bacteria. The bacteria that are in your mouth are the kinds that cause halitosis and gingivitis. Therefore, you need to use a toothpaste that can effectively stop the bacteria.
Regular toothpaste is full of ingredients that can actually be harmful to your health, especially if consumed in larger doses. These ingredients can include:
Fluoride– fights cavities, but in large doses is toxic and can also cause mottled teeth. There is usually more than enough fluoride added to our local water supply and adults actually have no legitimate need for fluoride in their toothpaste at all.
Sodium Laurel Sulfate– (also called “SLS”) is used to make regular toothpaste foam. It is essentially a detergent that’s also found in a lot of shampoos. It is also known to be a skin irritant to a lot of people.
Saccharin– It’s used for sweetening the taste of a lot of mouthwashes and toothpastes. It has also been proven to cause kidney cancer in lab rats. Because of this, it is rarely used these days as a sweetener in foods.
Why Organic Toothpaste is better for you than Regular Toothpaste
Organic toothpaste is derived from the use of all natural ingredients such as mint and other similar herbs that are also natural breath fresheners. They are not formulated to be like a form of “soap” for your teeth like regular toothpaste is. Organic toothpaste contains all of the needed elements without the potentially harmful chemicals and/or
Organic toothpaste is a wise and healthier choice for those who would like to minimize the amount of chemicals that could potentially endanger your general health and possibly weaken your overall oral health. The all natural solutions in organic toothpaste contain natural antibacterial ingredients such as spearmint and peppermint oils. These help to eliminate bacteria and keep your mouth healthy.
Organic toothpaste can be a healthier alternative to regular toothpaste. Now that you are aware of this, feel free to share the knowledge and promote healthier oral health.
